My child has never played Minecraft. Is that a problem?+
Not at all. The first lesson includes a gentle walkthrough of the controls — most kids are comfortable within minutes. Lessons are built around English, not gaming skill, so a Minecraft beginner is never behind.
Isn't this just repeating the same phrases?+
No — each lesson centers on a fresh build, quest, or problem to solve, so students are producing their own sentences to fit a real situation rather than reciting a script.
How is grammar actually taught?+
Grammar points come up naturally in context — for example, past tense while describing what was just built — and are reinforced with a short, targeted practice, rather than taught as standalone drills.
Will skills learned in Minecraft carry over to real conversations?+
Lessons deliberately practice transferable skills — describing, asking questions, negotiating, giving instructions — the same functions students need in everyday English, not just game-specific vocabulary.
Setup & Technical
Does my child need to own Minecraft?+
Yes — and we support both Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, so it doesn't matter which one your family already owns. Not sure which version you have? We'll help you check before your trial lesson.
What devices can my child use?+
Whatever you already have works: Bedrock Edition runs on iPads and other tablets, phones, Windows PCs, and consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. Java Edition runs on Windows and Mac. If your child can run Minecraft on it, they can take lessons on it.
What software do we need besides Minecraft?+
A stable internet connection and Discord for the video/voice call during the lesson — we'll send an invite after booking. No other downloads needed.
How do I know my child is safe online?+
Lessons take place on a private Minecraft server, in a world just for your child and their tutor — no public servers, no other players.

Who are MineLingo's teachers?+
Every MineLingo teacher is a qualified English teacher with real classroom experience, personally selected for genuine Minecraft knowledge as well as teaching ability. We're happy to share a teacher's background and credentials before you book a paid package.
Will my child have the same teacher every lesson?+
Yes — students are matched with one teacher for consistency, so lessons build on each other instead of starting from scratch every time.
What if my child wants to keep playing Minecraft outside lesson time?+
Lessons happen in a private world separate from any world your child already plays in. What happens outside lesson time is entirely up to you — your teacher is glad to share simple screen-time suggestions if it's helpful.
Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?+
Yes — just give as much notice as you can. Occasional rescheduling is expected and won't cost you a lesson from your package.
